THE NEXT GENERATION IN HEARING PROTECTION FILTER DESIGN
The PRO filter series has been redesigned with the user in mind. For starters, it’s smaller than many competing filters, meaning it can fit smaller ears without any bulge. This is great for both comfort and aesthetics. The filters are also interchangeable so you can remove and change as your environment demands with any other filter in the PRO range. So you have total control over your protection with just one set of earmolds. In addition, the PRO range is waterproof so it can be used outdoors or in high humidity environments. It can withstand perspiration without damaging the filter membrane.
THE CURSE OF OCCLUSION
Trying to create a natural sounding earplug is no easy task when it comes to your own voice. As you may have experienced, when you block the ear canal your own voice begins to reverberate inside your head, this is what we call occlusion. The occlusion is caused by sound being carried into your ear canals through the cartilage on the sides of your head. It usually escapes through the open ear canal so it is not heard. When we block the channel this sound cannot escape and therefore creates that explosion effect.
Much of the occlusion can be removed by making sure the earplug sits deep enough in the ear canal to extend through the cartilage so that sound hits the plug and is muffled rather than going all the way into the canal, but still PRO filters go one step further. The PRO Series is vented to allow sound to pass in both directions, meaning any remaining sound can escape directly through the filter providing one of the most natural sounding earplugs available.

Please note: The PRO10 filter deliberately does not meet the minimum attenuation of 12dB above 1KHz required by the EN352-2 standard, so it is not tested or certified under this standard.
